Nelson Advisors has been invited to be a guest speaker at the Department of Medical Informatics at the Amsterdam University Medical Center.
The Department of Medical Informatics (Klinische Informatiekunde) at Amsterdam UMC works in close collaboration with the Amsterdam Public Health (APH) research institute. Situated primarily at the AMC location in Amsterdam, the department sits at the intersection of information science, computer science, medicine, and public health.
Many faculty members and researchers in Medical Informatics hold dual affiliations with APH, contributing heavily to APH research programs—particularly Digital Health and Methodology.
Collaboration with Amsterdam Public Health (APH)
APH is a joint research alliance bringing together Amsterdam UMC, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), and the University of Amsterdam (UvA).
Open Research Amsterdam
Within APH, the Department of Medical Informatics plays a central role in:
Digital Health Program: Co-leading initiatives in eHealth interventions, mobile health monitoring, and healthcare AI.
Amsterdam UMC
Methodology Program: Standardising statistical methods, epidemiological data models, and data governance for public health research.
Primary Care & Population Health: Utilizing large electronic health record (EHR) databases—such as the General Practice Database (GPD-ANHA)—to study disease prevalence and health outcomes across the Amsterdam region.

Bachelor's & Master's in Medical Informatics (Klinische Informatiekunde) at UvA / Amsterdam UMC.
Post-Master's Program in Health Informatics for working healthcare professionals.
PhD Trajectories covering healthcare AI, medical statistics, and data engineering.
